You have the opportunity to see whales (orcas, minkes and grays), listen to the sea lions, frolic with the Pacific white-sided dolphins or see bears on the shore lines. Eagles and other water fowl are plentiful along these coast lines.

World Class Diving Licensed and insured dive masters can provide everything for an exciting and safe dive in Coast Guard approved boats. All the necessary dive equipment can be rented at one of several local dive shops.

An Abundance of Rivers and Streams The exquisite natural settings of lakes, rivers and streams on Vancouver Island attract anglers from around the world. Tyee Fishing (Rowing the Tyee Pool) From August 1st to September 15th our guests have the opportunity to enjoy a style of fishing unique to Campbell River.

Explore the island.
A Walk around Steep Island will lead you through untouched virgin forest, rocky moss covered bluffs, shorelines with tidal pools…all with beautiful views up and down Discovery Passage. This is a beginner hike - needing only a good pair of walking shoes, and an appreciation for nature. The loop takes 20 to 25 minutes depending on how many stops of interest you make. At low tide the southern tip of the island has tidal pools filled with all kinds of creatures, and there is a good chance to see seals or sealions basking in the sun on the rocks.
We have 3 pairs of resident eagles on the island, so there is a lot of avian action. From building nests, snatching prey out of the water and teaching their young to fly.....there is always something going on. Huge Douglas Fir trees, elegant arbutus, mosses, ferns and wildflowers as well as the shore life are all a part of this islands ecosystem.
